@invisible Thank you for the inputs, I agree with all the points you stated. you are welcome to collaborate to create a marketplace. I would suggest creating a marketplace as a plugin, not including it to the core. so we can easily maintain the marketplace separately. all plugins should install from Github. I started the open street map plugin.

Osclass 5.x has OpenstreetMaps and auto updating already.

If I remember correctly, Navjot said he has plans for a free marketplace to be integrated into the core in the future.

Official or not, he is not active even in there. Opening a Forum is a 5 minutes job in 2021, even for newbies. Everyone can do it and by this i mean NO disrespect to anyone. Just the facts.

Running / moderating a forum is a totally different thing. You must have devoted time for it. And a community around it, and i see no community anywhere, there, here or other osclass forums. Oh, i see some in Osclasspoint support forums but also no real community. Just customers with issues.

I agree. I didn't like @navjottomer forum. I think everyone should be in one forum like this.

@aficionado Yeah I know checking out the forum is a 5-minute job, but after tanking hours in osclass development I rarely left with energy to use that 5 minutes and it's a daily routine. It's not possible that I just see a post and do not respond to it without any constructive reply and that's not a 5-minute job to help someone.

Another forum is created as an alternative, so people can share their issues and get help themselves. I didn't stop anyone to do the same in any other forums. I invited everyone, so they can invest some time in the community which they say they care about, in fact, no one is interested in community building. Right now I am the only one who is working on the project and without me, it can't survive and that's not what I want. I do love to work with the community, but there are too many things to handle right now, new languages repository, new backend theme, new store and many more.

BTW I am open to any suggestion but I do not have the luxury to visit around every forum. It's a hefty schedule to maintain, update and test, I am mostly on github.com.

@navjottomer I didn't say it is a 5 minutes job to check a forum but a 5 minutes job to CREATE a forum. That comment wasn't for you.

I do understand and fully respect your job and i was the FIRST to mention your Osclass 3.x rewrite 2 years BEFORE Osclass org was closed.

Also i do understand that (with the small exception of @defected) you practically have got NO HELP from all other "developers". It is a "one man show" and i APPLAUDE you for that.

Having said all that, having 100 forums, 100 sites, 100 markets for the same thing, is not good for anyone. Because no one can maintain them.

Anyways, i wish you all the best, you deserve it and you have my support everywhere (at github, in my site, my customers, everywhere)

Look who came to the forum.. The man behind osclass 5.0 itself. @navjottomer Thank you for coming to this forum on my mention.

I am not telling you to become active in this forum. I want you to come and visit sometimes atleast in this osclass development section. Check out the suggestions and implement it if you think the suggestion is good.

I want to you add SPAM protection by default without any plugin to osclass and enable it in every page that has a form.

I get lot of mails via contact form. No spam protection is in the contact page i think. All other pages like login, register and lisiting publish were protected by recaptcha.

WebDev since 1998 , OSClass old timer (since v.3.2+,2012+, with 200+ contributions)

Having time the following months, I too would like to participate.

So my suggestion for osclass to survive is:

* Establish a List of features you'd like other to contribute first.

PRIORITY is the key? ASSIGNATION to ?

but how to know who is working on it? 

I used to work on other open-source projects where we had a list of issues "ASSIGNED TO" 

How do you all work on it ? What is your workflow process ?

Another suggestion for osclass to survive is:

* A Link/Doc to the script/the piece of code to use to move an existing running v.3+ to the new v.5

The process didn't change at all, delete old files, put new ones, click "Upgrade" when logging in in oc-admin.
