Yes, I noticed that, but I don't like the WordPress influence on the Osclass admin page. I would like to use our original Osclass without market. 

@fre2mansur Well you can modify it relatively easily, the admin page.

I would love to work on "our" Osclass version but nothing from Navjot for months now.

The plugin would have the
1, New UI for admin with an option of (on/off)
2, Market page to install free products installable from the git repository.

Appreciate the fork and removal of his links to marketplace, etc.,  Are important plugins like Anti Spam & Protection - Auto - Real Estate - Profile Picture, etc., most basic plugins and some other old plugins working with this version?  Thanks!

@resta I still haven't tested out the script properly. Will do it this weekend and eventually update my sites as well.

I updated the repo to Osclasspoint 4.4.0 version. The original developer got a bit disrupted that I uploaded it on GitHub, but their license allows me to do so.

Thanks Man! He didn't develop the core version which was released on MIT license and the license allows anyone to develop and release versions but others also have the right to update it as long as they release new updates to everyone.  Did the developer contact you and got in spat with you?

First of all developers should have worked on one official git release instead of making plans to conquer the world with their own versions and marketplaces so they can hijack core osclass which has also led to the confusion for users and several sites showing in search results all trying to replace osclass while the core version was developed for years by someone else - although they were not good in principles and had bad attitude, at least it provided us all with a decent classified script and trying to hijack it and going back to the same old corrupt principles of osclass team by linking it to the marketplace, etc., does no good to the end users.

@resta I agree. Our osclass original 3.9 is stable. We can improve it easily.

It is stable and I have been using 3.9 so far but there is no news and 5.0 was still not beta tested on production sites because there were some errors and no news about any updates.   It can be improved but is there any point in doing so, now?  What is the plan to improve - I don't think there is any and I am not a programmer and I can't complain but I am just answering.  I was happy when Navjot, Patrick. Webdev and a couple of other old experienced users took over as they have a lot of experience but there isn't any news - that is no different than the original osclass team and the results show. I think it is too late - even softaculous is now offering version 4.4.0 from osclasspoint - basically that is the official version now. For an end user it makes no difference as long as they can get a stable script and occasional updates and for now osclasspoint version is better.

If you guys truly want to continue developing the alternative version then there needs to be some action and a plan. I would still support multiple developers continuing this effort and if multiple users can offer their plugins on a common marketplace as compared one developer dominating the whole thing by linking it to their own marketplace.

I too downloaded Osclass point version. Its working fine. Old plugins and themes works fine. They are regularly updating it. Atleast they are the best option available now.

Hi. It ihas been a while since I've visited this forum. Now I see versions like 4.4 etc. Meanwile since 2018 I had the luck of working in a pro environment using coding standards like PSR2 and PSR12, coding principles like DRY, KISS etc.

After a couple of years I also saw projects far worse than osclass.

My conclusion is simple.

- A code written just to generate money is crap code.

- A developer that writes code just for money and just to work in a happy flow will always write crap code.

If I look now to the code I was writing in 2017 I see crap code:)).

One good news is that the crap code can be refactored:)

Also now I see why osclass was so ... not to the wishes of 'aficionado' (if any of you remember him) and why it got abandoned by osclass team. This strenghtness my ideea that a code written just to generate money is crap code (this is valid for any other field or service like car services etc).

That said, I'm happy to see this forum still alive.

PS. I remembered this forum because I  just fixed another bug on item stats after an item is edited in my osclass.

Question. Is 3.9 or 4.x stil using ludash library? I ask because I received some warnings from github about it having some vulnerabilities (that can be found by searching online).

I only kept contact with @defected ....

We don't have the access to https://github.com/mindstellar/Osclass, we depend on Novjot to release new updates. I'm ready to manage the repository if he gives access.

@aficionado OMG! you are back. I am so happy that people are still catching up with osclass community. Welcome back. You have a lot of knowledge. Your help is needed for the poor guys in this forum.
